45: Digital Fabrication and Mass Customization in temporary structures: a systematic review of literature
Original title: Fabricação Digital e Customização em Massa em estruturas provisórias: uma Revisão Sistemática de Literatura

Research in PORTUGUÊS

This article presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) intending to answer the research question: how Digital Fabrication (DF) and Mass Customization (MC) are being used for the development of temporary or ephemeral architectural structures? The goal was to identify current literature on temporary structures guided by DF and MC. Notably, there is a lack of research in this field. The literature reviewed present variations in the proposition of MC in two aspects: process and product; the main discussions found focused on establishing parametric and / or adequate workflows, and on the production of the complex form. The emphasis of the SRL is on the importance of expanding the discussions of DF and MC to ephemeral structures in architecture, not necessarily associated with complex form and contribute to local cultural productions. It is part of a research that seeks to develop co-participatory models of stalls guided by the DF and MC.
