141: Mapping digital platforms: the delivery apps controversy
Original title: Cartografando plataformas digitais: a controvérsia dos aplicativos de entrega.

Research in PORTUGUÊS

This article addresses the topic of digital delivery platforms and their performance in the city, especially in the period of the covid-19 pandemic. In a critical essay based on case examples from the city of Rio de Janeiro, we address some key issues that the development of this type of platform generates for existing delivery services, now potentiated by a period of social isolation where this demand has increased considerably. The so-called platform labor is understood as a phenomenon that intensifies social conflicts, leading both to the organization of resistance and to the search for solutions that necessarily involve the development of alternative digital platforms. On the other hand, the proliferation of dark stores and ghost kitchens also affects the lived experience in the city, giving rise to a series of other concerns that deserve greater attention.
